Why an Oakside Wood Effect Coffins with Raised Lid?

The wood effects have been chosen to reproduce the most popular woods, all of which are Forest Stewardship Council certified. The coffins displayed below higlight some of the the six differing types: light oak, elm, dark oak, mahogany, limed oak and cherry. All coffins can be supplied with or without coffin furniture and/or lining.

Our Environment

Using a wood coffin for cremation is good for the environment. The burning of the wood coffin aids cremation and diminishes the fossil fuel used (assuming the cremation is powered by gas or fossil fuel generated electricity). The burning of wood is carbon neutral - the amount of CO2 emitted in combustion equals that absorbed during its life. A traditional wood coffin reduces emissions of climate changing 'green house' gases.
