The Natural Legacy by Hainsworth woollen coffins received a royal invite to the Prince Charles’s ‘green’ garden party festival, held at his Clarence House home last month. Organised to promote the small steps consumers can take to building a more sustainable future, the event hosted a vast range of displays and exhibitions supported by some of the UK’s best-known musicians, comedians, environmental experts and businesses.
Prince Charles first discovered the Natural Legacy woollen coffins at the launch of the Campaign for Wool in January, a national initiative designed to breathe life into the wool industry and help safeguard the livelihoods of British sheep farmers.
Rachel Hainsworth, director at Hainsworth said: “To receive a royal invitation to a high profile event such as this was a great boost for us, and allowed us to showcase our Natural Legacy range to over 90,000 visitors interested in learning how making small changes to their lives can help make a big difference to the environment.
JC Atkinson partnered Hainsworth in the development of the Woollen coffin and are the sole UK distributor. The coffins have proved hugely popular since launching last year and are now being sold across Europe as well as in Australia and the US. Made from pure British wool, a natural, sustainable and biodegradable material, the coffins are lined with cotton, reinforced with recycled cardboard, edged in jute and can be embroidered with a personal name plate.
