Two recent appointments at JC Atkinson, one of the UK’s leading coffin manufacturers, have helped to boost the sales and marketing function. Paul Thompson has been taken on to manage the company’s marketing activity and Neil Castle will be managing relationships with Funeral Directors throughout the south of England. The company is enjoying an extremely successful and busy period after the launch of the wool coffin range, the introduction of a new website and the continued success of product lines such as the Reflections picture coffins. Paul and Neil will help to build on the momentum of the national coverage generated by the wool coffins and to continue to develop the sales function to ensure existing and new customers get top quality products and service from the company.
Paul’s previous experience is varied: he has been involved in financial services marketing and operations for Northern Rock and Ecology Building Society. Most recently he was a Product Operations Manager for Eaga plc. Paul is looking forward to helping to grow the established JC Atkinson brand and commented:
"This is a great opportunity and a great time to be joining JC Atkinson at such a pivotal point in the company’s history. The launch of the wool coffin range, the growing focus on environmental issues in the sector and the continual development of innovative products and processes makes this a very exciting company to be involved in."
Like Paul, Neil’s previous roles have been in a completely different industry sector – the water treatment business - but he is confident of his ability to ensure that JC Atkinson’s customers in the south of the country continue to enjoy the levels of service and quality products that they have been used to for generations.
Julian Atkinson, MD of JC Atkinson, is delighted to welcome the two new employees on board. He said: "This is the right time for us to be building the sales and marketing team up. As a company we are securing national recognition through the media and through award wins for our products and in particular for our environmental approach. The funeral industry is changing and we are keen to help our customers adapt and grow – continual support through our sales teams and our marketing function are going to help achieve this."
