Every funeral home creates clinical waste; it is an unfortunate by product of the funeral process. Of course, the collection and disposal of clinical waste does not come without a cost, in fact many funeral homes are paying upwards of £20 to outside contractors to have a single bag of clinical waste collected and disposed of! This can be a huge cost to a business in what is becoming a very competitive and shrinking market!

Legislation demands that this waste is collected and disposed of in an approved manner.
ecollect is a new clinical waste collection and disposal service, offered by JC Atkinson & Son as part of its growing product portfolio.

Apart from the cost of the collection and disposal of clinical waste, there are also the environmental implications of this process to be considered. The new ecollect service from JC Atkinson features the added benefit of removing the need for additional transportation and thus reducing the carbon footprint of the clinical waste collection process.

The ecollect service is very simple...

JC Atkinson will supply our customers with clinical waste sacks, bins and or skips. The customer will collate their clinical waste in their usual manner and JC Atkinson will collect the waste as we deliver coffin orders to the customer.

Once collected the waste is disposed of from the JC Atkinson main headquarters.

There are a number of reasons to use ecollect:

• Ease of Use - When you are a customer of ecollect, all you have to do is order your coffins as you normally would and we do the rest. We will pick up your clinical waste as we deliver your coffin order
• Cost Saving - We have estimated that using the ecollect service could reduce your clinical waste collection costs by approximately 15%
• Better For The Environment - As the clinical waste will be collected as we deliver your coffin order, there is no need for an extra journey by an outside agency. This will reduce the vehicle emissions and produce a lower carbon footprint for the process.

The only commitment required to obtain the ecollect service is a commitment to a three month rolling contract with a three month notice period. JC Atkinson will supply the clinical waste bags free of charge when required, and will also supply the bins/skips free of charge (with a small deposit, refundable on return).
